Japanese Onsen Roller Coaster Lets You Ride While Soaking—Insane Launch in July

The "Yu~Enchi Project" video from Beppu City went viral upon release, and the city’s mayor pledged to make the "Onsen Roller Coaster" a reality if it hit one million views. This July, a limited-time 3-day onsen theme park will finally open, allowing visitors to “soak while they play.”

The theme park featured in the "Yu~Enchi Project" video features attractions that all incorporate “onsen,” including roller coasters, carousels, and even cable cars—filled with piping-hot hot spring water. The wildly creative idea made netizens eager to see it come to life, and the video racked up over one million views in just three days, prompting the mayor to fulfill his promise.

The ultra-creative onsen theme park is set to open from July 29 to 31 this year, operating for just three days. Each day, 3,000 visitors will be allowed to enter and “soak while they play.” Ticket sales have already begun, and interested travelers can apply via the official event website.
