Not for the faint of heart: UK theme park unveils world's first "astronaut's-eye" roller coaster

The famous British amusementpark Alton Towerswill launch its new Galactica roller coaster this April, which uses virtual reality and gravity-defying technology to make passengers feel like they’re in outer space—its intense thrills may not be ideal for those who scare easily.

According to the UK’s Daily Mail,the recently accident-prone Alton Towers theme park is introducing a revolutionary roller coaster, one that offers an experience unlike any other thanks to its integration of cosmic elements that many dream of. Galactica will use virtual reality to give riders the sensation of floating through space, spanning approximately 840 meters in length.
Galactica is considered the world’s first roller coaster to combine visual effects with ride mechanics, syncing the track layout so each guest can wear specially designed headphones for a unique flying experience.
