The ruins of the General Temple in Yunxiao are a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Fujian Province.

The ruins of the General Temple in Yunxiao are located in Qianpu Village, Pumei Town, Yunxiao County, dating back to the Tang Dynasty.

Introduction: Originally built in 684 during the first year of Emperor Zhongzong’s reign (Suiqing era), it was later decreed to be rebuilt as the Weihui Temple during Emperor Huizong’s reign (1101–1125). It is the first official temple in the Tang Dynasty to enshrine the pioneering figures who developed Zhangzhou. As it was situated at the lower camp site of Chen Zheng’s army entering Zhangzhou, it was also called the Lower Camp Temple, commonly known as the Lower South General Temple. The existing architectural ruins cover an area of approximately 6,000 square meters. In 1997, archaeological excavation was carried out, with an excavation area of 62 square meters. Remains of Song Dynasty architecture were discovered beneath Qing Dynasty foundations on the surface, and relics from the Tang and Song Dynasties were unearthed.

In 2013, the ruins of the General Temple in Yunxiao were designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage sites by the Fujian Provincial People's Government.

Protected area: 30 meters beyond the drip line of the front eaves of the front hall to the south; 20 meters beyond the drip line of the rear eaves of the rear hall to the north; 30 meters beyond the outer wall of the east wing room to the east; 20 meters beyond the drip line of the west outer wall of the main hall of Kaiyuan Temple to the west.

Qianpu Village: Qianpu Village is located to the north of Pumei Town, beside Baocheng Road, in an urban-rural fringe area with convenient transportation. The village has 460 households and a total population of 2,050. It has eight members on the village committee and 54 party members. Its main sources of income are commerce and employment. The area has a concentrated population, numerous shops, and complete supporting facilities. The village also houses a county-level cultural heritage site — the Lower Camp General Temple, which was originally the camp site of Zhangzhou development troops.
