The Martyrs' Memorial Pavilion of Chen Yuansai is located on Wushan Mountain in Tongbei Village, Heping Township, Yunxiao County.

Martyr Chen Yuansai was born in 1907 on Ximei Street in the county town of Yunxiao. He graduated from Quanzhou Peiyuan Middle School in 1925, joined the Northern Expedition Army in 1926, engaged in workers’ and peasants’ movements in Xiamen, and joined the Communist Party of China. Later, together with comrades such as Li Lianxing, he went to Zhangpu to establish Xingmin School, organize peasant associations, and lead struggles against taxes and levies. In 1928, he sold his house and land to fund the revolution, and led his parents and younger brother to join the revolutionary cause, working for the underground party. He was involved in secret communication work between Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and the Central Soviet Area. In 1930, he was transferred to Xiamen to serve as an organizational officer of the Fujian Provincial Committee of the CPC and a member of the Xiamen Municipal Committee, cooperating with Tao Zhu in organizing the Xiamen Prison Break operation. In August of the same year, he became Secretary of the Zhangzhou Special Committee. In early 1931, he was arrested in Xiamen and imprisoned in Fuzhou Prison, where he was sentenced to life imprisonment. In prison, he led the “political prisoners” in unyielding resistance against the Kuomintang authorities, enduring severe torture that led to serious illness. In 1933, he was released from prison through efforts by the Party organization and was sent to Lianjiang to serve as Propaganda Minister of the Lianjiang County Committee of the CPC, taking charge of the committee’s work while also serving as Chief of Staff of the 13th Independent Regiment of the Mindong Red Army. He made outstanding contributions to the establishment of the Lianluo Soviet Area. After the Long March of the Central Red Army, the Lianluo Soviet Area fell, and he managed to break through the encirclement under the protection of the Party organization and returned to Xiamen. Despite being seriously ill, he went up to Wushan Mountain to reconnect with the Min-Yue Border Special Committee and continued to work for the Party. He passed away in October 1939 at the age of 32 and was approved as a revolutionary martyr by the Provincial People’s Committee in 1957. In recognition of Martyr Chen Yuansai’s selfless dedication to the revolution, his unwavering loyalty to the people, his remarkable achievements, and the filial devotion of his children, upon the application of his descendants and with consent from relevant higher authorities, the Martyrs' Memorial Pavilion of Chen Yuansai was built in the Wushan Scenic Area. Construction of the pavilion began in May 2006 and was completed on September 30, 2006.

The Martyrs' Memorial Pavilion of Chen Yuansai is a hexagonal pavilion, with a memorial stele erected in the center. The front of the stele is inscribed with “The Martyr Lives Forever,” while the back details the deeds of Martyr Chen Yuansai.
