The site of the departure of the 3rd Detachment of Fujian Anti-Japanese Resistance Forces is located in Pixia Village, Xihe Township, Yunxiao County.

In April 1932, the Red Army’s Eastern Route Army captured Zhangzhou. In mid-May, the headquarters of the Eastern Route Army dispatched over 20 company and platoon-level officers, including Zhang Changshui and Chen Taoqing, to strengthen the leadership of the South Fujian Red Army guerrilla forces, officially establishing the 3rd Independent Regiment of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army in South Fujian (referred to as the Red 3rd Regiment), with Commander Feng Yifei, Political Commissar Wang Zhanchun (also serving as commander), comprising five companies and over 750 personnel. After the “Zhangpu Incident” in July 1937, only a group of over 20 soldiers led by Lu Sheng remained in the Red 3rd Regiment. On July 18, the regiment was re-established, with Lu Sheng serving as both commander and political commissar, the entire unit being reorganized into one company and three squads with nearly 30 members. In October 1937, to further mobilize the public and carry out anti-Japanese activities, the Red 3rd Regiment under the South Fujian Special Committee was renamed the “3rd Detachment of the South Fujian People’s Anti-Japanese Volunteer Army” (referred to as the 3rd Detachment of Fujian Anti-Japanese Resistance Forces), with Detachment Commander Lu Sheng, Chief of Staff Wang Sheng, and about 150 officers and soldiers conducting anti-Japanese operations. By December, the 3rd Detachment had expanded to over 300 members, with each person equipped with one rifle and 20 rounds of ammunition. On January 6, 1938, the New Fourth Army headquarters moved from Hankou to Nanchang. The 3rd Detachment of Fujian Anti-Japanese Resistance Forces was ordered to be reorganized into the 1st Battalion of the 4th Regiment of the 2nd Detachment of the New Fourth Army. In late January, Lu Sheng led the 3rd Detachment of Fujian Anti-Japanese Resistance Forces to gather in Pixia in preparation for their northward journey to join the resistance. During this period, the people of Yunxiao, under the leadership of the Party, actively carried out anti-Japanese salvation activities: young students went into streets and villages to promote resistance, merchants organized fundraising efforts, and women made military uniforms, shoes, and prepared rations for the soldiers about to head north. On March 1, the troops set off for the anti-Japanese front lines in southern Anhui.

The original office of the 3rd Detachment at the departure site has now been converted into a Guanyin Temple, while the original assembly point for the troops' northward departure has been paved with concrete.
