The former site of the founding of the Yunhezhao County Committee is located at Wushan Shiba Jian (Eighteen Rooms on Mount Wu), Tongbei Village, Heping Township, Yunxiao County. In October 1934, Lu Sheng, political instructor of the Sixth Company of the Third Red Army Regiment, was ordered to lead his troops into Mount Wu and established the Wushan Revolutionary Base centered around Banling and Qiaotou in Yunxiao. In the autumn of 1935, the Third Red Army Regiment of Chaochengrao, which had carried out a strategic relocation from the Fufeng Soviet Area, along with the Special Task Regiment and the three surviving veteran county committee members of the Raohepu County Committee, also arrived in Mount Wu one after another and joined forces with Lu Sheng’s unit. To strengthen leadership over the tri-county border area of Yun, He, and Zhao, in October 1935, He Ming, a standing member of the Minyue Border Special Committee, convened a meeting at Wushan Shiba Jian, where it was decided to establish the Yunhezhao County Committee. Cai Yamin (Cai Weilin) was appointed as the secretary, Chen Yaotao concurrently served as the head of the Organization Department, and Chen Laozhao as the head of the Propaganda Department. The former secretary of the Chaochengrao County Committee was reassigned to work for the Special Committee and became the Special Committee’s commissioner to Yunhezhao. In February 1936, due to suspicions arising during a purge campaign, Cai Yamin left for Hong Kong. Commissioner Zhang Min then concurrently served as the county committee secretary. The Yunhezhao County Committee was subordinate to the Minyue Border Special Committee and had jurisdiction over seven working areas, establishing more than 100 branches and recruiting over 500 party members. The Wushan Revolutionary Base directly led by the Yunhezhao County Committee was the most important revolutionary base in southern Fujian during the three-year guerrilla warfare period, serving as a strategic hub connecting the two major bases in eastern Guangdong and western Fujian. During the War of Resistance against Japan and the Liberation War, the Yunhezhao County Committee was successively under the jurisdiction of the Zhangzhou Central County Committee, the Southern Fujian Special Committee, and the Southern Fujian Regional Committee. Under the leadership of the Yunhezhao County Committee, the heroic people of Mount Wu fought bravely and relentlessly until the entire southern Fujian region was liberated.

The site of the founding of the Yunhezhao County Committee is located inside a cave at Wushan Shiba Jian, surrounded by dense mountain forests. Due to modern production activities—mainly local residents mining crystals—the site has been damaged, and no relevant historical relics have been found on the premises.
