The Dongshan Anti-Japanese War Aircraft Donation Memorial Monument is a cultural relic protection unit of Fujian Province.

The Dongshan Anti-Japanese War Aircraft Donation Memorial Monument is located in Park Community, Tongling Town, Dongshan County, dating back to 1941.

Description: Built in the 30th year of the Republic of China (1941) to commemorate the local people of Dongshan who actively donated funds to purchase aircraft in support of the anti-Japanese war effort, the monument was completed in the 31st year (1942). The structure is a tower-style obelisk, standing 8.27 meters tall in total, constructed from tightly fitted, dry-laid granite slabs. The base is square, with each side measuring 4.06 meters, and features three-tiered steps. The main body of the monument has three levels and is 7.7 meters high, symbolizing the commemoration of the “July 7th” Marco Polo Bridge Incident. The front of the monument is inscribed with the seal script: “Dongshan County Memorial Monument for Breaking Superstition, Practicing Thrift, and Donating Aircraft.” The base bears the inscription: “Constructed in the winter of the 30th year of the Republic of China, by Magistrate Lou Shengli of Dongshan County and Secretary Ma Youtao.” The back features an inscription erected by the Dongshan County Aircraft Donation and Superstition Eradication Fundraising Committee, which details the local people’s unified efforts in resisting Japan, fundraising for aircraft, and the process of building the monument. The sides list the names of the committee members and those who donated over 500 yuan toward aircraft purchases.

In 2018, the Dongshan Anti-Japanese War Aircraft Donation Memorial Monument was designated as part of the ninth batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units by the People’s Government of Fujian Province.
