According to the "Dictionary of Scenic Spots in China": The Tomb of Ji Kang is located at the southern foot of Ji Mountain, 30 kilometers northeast of Woyang County, Anhui Province. Ji Kang (774–763), courtesy name Shuye, was a man of the Cao Wei period during the Three Kingdoms era. A renowned litterateur and musician, he served as the Central Attendant Physician and was commonly known as Ji Zhongsan. He was friends with notable scholars of his time such as Ruan Xian, Ruan Ji, Shan Tao, Xiang Xiu, Liu Ling, and Wang, often gathering beneath the bamboo grove — collectively known as the “Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove.” Due to his political support for the Cao Wei regime and opposition to the Sima clan’s seizure of power, he was executed by Sima Zhao. Before his execution, he refused a rescue attempt by two thousand students and instead requested a zither to play the now-lost masterpiece "Guangling San." He was later buried here. The Tomb of Ji Kang is a county-level key cultural relic protection unit.

Ji Kang, courtesy name Shuye, was from Zhi County, Qiao Commandery (present-day Suzhou, Anhui). As a leading figure among the "Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove," he was a renowned thinker, poet, and musician of the late Wei period during the Three Kingdoms era, and one of the representative figures of the metaphysics school of his time. Known for his integrity, he lost his father in childhood and devoted himself to diligent study. Later, he married the granddaughter of Cao Cao (the daughter of Cao Lin) and held the position of Central Attendant Physician during the Cao clan's rule.
