Located in Zhanglaojia Village, northwest of Guoyang County, this is where Zhang Lexing was born in 1810. During the early stages of organizing the Nian Rebellion, Zhang Lexing frequently met with Gong Deshu, Su Tianfu, and others at his home to strategize on launching an uprising against the Qing Dynasty. The residence is a traditional Qing-style courtyard, surrounded by pine and cypress trees, with 16 hip-and-gable roofed houses. These include five rooms in the front hall, five in the rear reception area, and three rooms each in the east and west wing rooms. The reception hall features double-beam construction, carved beams and painted rafters, columns along the corridor, and lattice windows and doors, all contributing to its majestic architecture. It is a key cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

Zhang Lexing (1811–1863), childhood name Xiang’er, also known as Lao Le. Born in the 16th year of the Jiaqing reign during the Qing Dynasty (1811), he was from Zhanglaojia Village, northwest of Guoyang County, Anhui (before the county’s establishment, the area belonged to present-day Bozhou City). Coming from a wealthy landlord family, the Zhang family still owned over 500 acres of land by Zhang Lexing’s time. After the brothers divided the property, Zhang Lexing inherited about 70 acres. In his youth, he studied literature briefly before turning to farming. He also co-managed a workshop and traded miscellaneous goods. Known for his generosity, sense of justice, and hatred of evil, Zhang Lexing was deeply respected by the local poor.
