Introduction Located in Dan Town, Woyang County. Dan was first established as a county during the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The “Book of Wei: Geography” records: “The Linhuan Commandery includes Dan County.” The “Book of Sui” states: “In the first year of the Kaihuang era (581), Dan County was abolished and merged into Linhuan.” The “Qing Dynasty General Gazetteer” records: “Dan Market is located in Renyi Township, southwest of Suzhou, which was formerly Dan County.” The “Suzhou Annals” state: “Prince Zijin of the Zhou Dynasty refined elixirs here, hence the name Dan City.”
