Shuangsuoshan Martyrs' Cemetery is situated on Shuangsuoshan Mountain in Mengcheng County. It was constructed in 1983 by the Xiaojian District Committee and District Office to honor local martyrs who died during the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Liberation War. The site is located on the eastern side of Shuangsuoshan Mountain, about 25 kilometers northwest of Mengcheng County, adjacent to the Wu River. The mountain runs roughly from north to south and extends for around ten li. To the north lies Langshan Mountain, while to the south are Huangboshan and Jianshan Mountains, making it a place embraced by mountains. During the Five Dynasties period, the local heroine Liu Jinding established a stronghold here to protect her hometown. Zhang Lexing, leader of the Nian Rebellion, also operated in this area. The mountain served as a strategic defensive position during both the War of Resistance Against Japan and the Liberation War. There are numerous historical and cultural relics on and around the mountain, including famous sites such as Liu Jinding’s Horse Watering Spring, Dressing Tower, Horse Mounting Platform, Horse Cooling Shed, the Tomb of Gao Qiong — the Song Dynasty Martial King, and the ruins of Hongcheng.
