Bagong Mountain Stone Forest
The stone forest in Bagong Mountain is an important geological heritage landscape within the Bagong Mountain tourist area. It is located on the eastern slope of the Han Huainan King’s Palace and Shengxian Terrace, covering an exposed area of approximately 300,000 square meters with an exposure height ranging from 1.5 to 5 meters. The rocks here belong to the Lower Cambrian strata, primarily composed of dolomitic limestone. Due to the influence of two sets of high-angle joints (cleavage), combined with prolonged weathering, erosion, transportation, and the impact of plant growth, this area has formed a rare stone forest and stone bud landform in northern China, providing significant clues and data for the study of ancient geology, paleoclimate, and paleontology.
