Golden rapeseed flower seas and rhododendron blooms fill the valleys – Anhui’s floral season arrives in April

Every year from March to April, when flowers are in full bloom, vast fields of rapeseed and peach blossoms, set against the backdrop of Huizhou-style architecture with its grey tiles and white walls, become a favorite subject for photographers. This is the time when Anhui is filled with breathtaking scenery that captivates at every turn.

There are many flower-viewing spots in Anhui. In She County, southern Anhui, the Xin’an River Scenic Area and Shitan feature interwoven fields of rapeseed blossoming competitively. Vast stretches of golden rapeseed flowers complement the local Huizhou-style houses, creating a beautiful and enchanting golden landscape.

Meanwhile, in the Bagongshan Scenic Area of Shou County, tens of thousands of acres of peach and pear blossoms bloom in succession, with undulating waves of flowers covering the mountains and forming fragrant seas. The area is brimming with spring vitality and indescribable beauty. In Xuancheng, the birthplace of Chinese Xuan paper, the Jingting Mountain Forest Park is graced with large swaths of white pear blossoms fluttering in the air — truly a scene where “it seems as if a night of spring wind has arrived, and thousands of trees are covered in pear blossoms,” resembling a snowy wonderland akin to winter.
