Han Huainan King Palace is the main attraction of the Bagong Mountain Scenic Area, located in the Alchemy Valley within the scenic zone. Covering an area of 5,500 square meters, it was built to commemorate Liu An, the renowned thinker, literary figure, and progenitor of tofu in Chinese cuisine during the Western Han Dynasty. With an investment of 6 million RMB, the entire structure is designed in the architectural style of the Han Dynasty, featuring distinctive characteristics, grandeur, and a majestic presence that highlights the prosperity of the Han Dynasty. The main structures include: the Main Hall of the Han Huainan King Palace, which houses statues of Liu An and the Eight Elders, allowing both domestic and international visitors to pay their respects. The Side Halls feature a stone-carved corridor of the "Huainanzi," along with over 60 ornamental murals that primarily introduce the historical evolution of the ancient Huainan Kingdom, the life and achievements of Liu An, as well as the scientific advancements, historical tales, myths, and idiomatic stories first recorded in the "Huainanzi," a book compiled by Liu An with the help of his scholars. Based on the legend of Liu An's ascension to immortality, a stone-paved path, a stone memorial archway, and the magnificent Ascension Terrace were constructed behind the Han Huainan King Palace. The Ascension Terrace has three levels, built in an octagonal shape according to the eight trigrams of Taoist cosmology. The top level features a yin-yang fish pattern inlaid with black and white marble at its center. Climbing to the top of the Ascension Terrace and leaning on the railing, visitors are greeted by a mystical mountain scene surrounded by verdant peaks, cloud-kissing summits, drifting mist, and shimmering haze, evoking a sense of an ethereal immortal mountain. When autumn arrives, the landscape turns golden, inspiring a feeling of transcendence and the aspiration to ascend to the heavens.
