Wuhu Science and Technology Museum

The Wuhu Science and Technology Museum serves as a base for science education and patriotic education.

Situated by the Yangtze River and resembling a large ship, the Wuhu Science and Technology Museum is the largest and most fully equipped comprehensive science education venue in the province. It occupies a land area of 20,010 square meters, with a building area of 16,600 square meters and an exhibition space of 8,800 square meters, displaying 195 exhibits. The museum includes three permanent exhibition halls, one temporary exhibition hall, two youth activity studios, and one large and one small lecture hall, making it an important site for conducting patriotic education activities.

The museum fully leverages its role as a hub for science education by integrating patriotic education into its engaging and dynamic activities. Through organized group visits, thematic exhibitions, and special events, it provides patriotic, revolutionary tradition, and science popularization education to young people and the general public. The museum has successively launched themed exhibitions such as "Reaching for the Moon – The Chang'e Lunar Exploration Project Exhibition," educating visitors on topics including reform and opening-up, ecological civilization, national defense technology, and domestic industries. In 2011, the construction of the museum’s auxiliary building and the renewal of its exhibits were included in the "Wuhu City Urban 'Major Construction' Government Investment Preliminary Promotion Project Library." As part of the auxiliary building project and exhibit renewal, plans include adding a new "Military World" themed exhibition hall covering over 100 square meters, showcasing models of 38 of China’s latest land, sea, and air weapons and equipment. With the theme "Observing the Development of New China’s National Defense Technology through Weapons at Past National Day Parades," the exhibition will feature approximately 80 display panels divided into six sections. Visitors can view close-up models of national defense equipment at the museum, experience the growing strength of the country’s national defense technology, and be inspired with a sense of patriotism.
