Qichun Ecological Manor

Qichun Ecological Manor is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The manor is located in Yongping Village, Dingqiao Town, Qingyang County, Chizhou City. It is 18 kilometers from the Tongling Yangtze River Highway Bridge, 35 kilometers from Jiuhua Mountain, adjacent to Qixing River leading directly to the Yangtze River, and close to Provincial Highway 103, National Highway 318, and the Hefei–Tongling–Huangshan Expressway.

Established in 1996, the manor initially adopted a “short-term gains support long-term development” approach, following a “raise pigs, plant trees, expand the farm” model for rolling development, ensuring immediate benefits alongside expansion. It primarily developed an ecological circular agriculture model of “pig → biogas → fruit (fish, vegetables, crops) → pig,” producing pollution-free agricultural products and promoting eco-tourism and sightseeing agriculture. Highlighting a “farmhouse” theme, and centered around “forests,” “fruits,” and “fish,” the manor successively developed a series of distinctive tourism products such as “Forest Farmhouse Fun,” “Fruit Farmhouse Fun,” and “Fishing Farmhouse Fun.” The park features uniquely themed peach orchards, pear orchards, persimmon orchards, chestnut orchards, ecological vegetable gardens, fishing ponds, and farmhouses.

The development of the manor has also received care and support from leaders at all levels. Officials from relevant national ministries and commissions, as well as provincial and municipal leaders, have visited the manor multiple times for inspection and guidance. Over 13 million yuan has been invested in renovating and upgrading various service facilities within the manor, ensuring clean and tidy courtyards, fully equipped and hygienic restaurant and guest room facilities, orderly tourism reception and service management, uniformly dressed and certified staff providing honest and standardized services. The manor can accommodate up to 500 visitors daily and host 80 overnight guests.

The manor is recognized as a Chizhou Municipal Ecological Economy Demonstration Park and a Science & Technology-driven Agricultural Demonstration Park. In 2002, it was listed as a National Agricultural Comprehensive Development Multi-Operation Support Project. In 2005, it was awarded the title of “Anhui Provincial Agritainment Tourism Demonstration Site,” followed by “National Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site” and “National AA-Level Tourist Attraction” in 2007. The founder, Chen Qichun, has received honors such as “Anhui Provincial Model Worker” and “National Rural Youth Wealth Creator,” and was elected as a member of the Chizhou Municipal Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). His story has been covered by major media outlets including CCTV’s News Broadcast, CCTV’s Golden Land, People’s Daily, Farmers’ Daily, Hong Kong’s Wen Wei Po, and Anhui Satellite TV.

To meet the growing needs of tourists for leisure, entertainment, and suburban travel, and to enhance the manor’s tourism appeal and reception capacity, a long-term plan has been made. Upon completion, the manor will be divided into a resort area featuring a water recreation center, fishing ponds, a cluster of southern Anhui-style residences, a clubhouse zone, and a specialty dining center, as well as an agri-tourism sightseeing area focused on ecological vegetables, agriculture, and fruits. It will become a large-scale outdoor leisure and vacation destination integrating sightseeing, leisure, entertainment, sports, science education, and agricultural experiences.

Dingqiao Town: Dingqiao Town is an industrial hub and major agricultural town in Qingyang County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. Nestled against Jiuhua Mountain—one of China’s four sacred Buddhist mountains—and overlooking the “golden waterway” of the Yangtze River, the town lies close to both mountains and water, and near the city. It borders Wuhu to the east and Tongling to the north. Covering an area of 94.2 square kilometers, the town governs 14 administrative villages with a population of 21,000.
