Longchi An

Longchi An

Also known as "Qingyin An," it is located on the west side of Longchi Stream along the northern road of Jiuhua Mountain. Originally built during the Tang Dynasty, it was the residence of the poet-monk Shenying. In the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, the abbot Kāifó raised funds for its restoration. During the Republican era, the abbot Huádé was fond of planting and painting plum blossoms. After his passing, his body remained uncorrupted for three years, and his disciples enshrined his gilded mortal remains. In 1933, the abbot was Wéibǎo. From 1938 onward, the abbot was Zhìguāng. It was destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. The original construction covered an area of 770 square meters. In 1984, the old temple was demolished. In 1987, it was rebuilt by the Jiuhua Mountain Management Office.
