The sunrise at Tiantai is absolutely magnificent. Before dawn, standing atop the Cloud Gorge, gaze eastward where a faint glimmer first appears. The sea of clouds stretches boundlessly, with verdant mountains emerging like islands from the mist. The air is still, the waves calm, and all is silent. The eastern glow grows brighter, and golden rays burst forth along the horizon, beneath which an orange-yellow line begins to appear. Soon, the line resembles an eyebrow, gradually forming a radiant semi-circle that becomes more and more round—like the edge of a circular mirror inlaid with a golden halo, hanging on the edge of the sky as if nature and humankind were preparing to freshen up. In the blink of an eye, the light intensifies dramatically as the sun rises slowly, illuminating the endless sea of clouds with overwhelming grandeur. Suddenly, the clouds disperse, revealing the ninety-nine peaks in their full forms, each uniquely shaped and strikingly rugged.
