Tianchi Hermitage

Tianchi Hermitage

Located east of Huacheng Temple in Jiuhua Street. It was one of the eastern wing guest rooms of Huacheng Temple during the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty. During the Tongzhi era, abbot Monk Zhanxiu raised funds to expand it. In 1925, the abbot was Monk Xinding. From 1928 to 1938, the abbot was Monk Miaoching. In 1949, the abbot was Monk Linglai. The current abbot is Bhikkhuni Dichen. In front of Tianchi Hermitage there is an approximately 100-square-meter lotus pond where visitors can enjoy the view of the flowers. It’s a serene and leisurely spot, offering tranquility amid the bustle, and refreshing the mind and spirit.
