Jiuhua Shenlong Valley is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The Jiuhua Shenlong Valley scenic area is located at the southern foot of Jiuhua Mountain, also known as the back of Jiuhua Mountain, in Lingyang Town, Qingyang County, Chizhou City. It falls within the territory of Jiuhua Mountain National Forest Park. The valley sits at an elevation of 548 meters and stretches 3 kilometers in length. The area boasts dense vegetation that shades the paths from sunlight, murmuring streams, and cascading waterfalls, making it an ideal destination for eco-tourism. The valley features dozens of pools and ponds interconnected by waterfalls, collectively known as the “Nine Drops and Eighteen Bends.”

The area is often shrouded in clouds and mist, with deep, narrow gorges and elevation drops of several hundred meters. Since ancient times, the scenic area has been a vital passage for merchants from Huizhou and Jiangxi on their way to pay homage to Jiuhua Mountain. Over the centuries, influenced by the serene spiritual atmosphere, it has developed a unique culture centered around ancient pilgrimage trails and incense-offering traditions. Today, it serves as a great destination to experience eco-tourism, enjoy farm-style cuisine, and immerse oneself in Buddhist culture.

Lingyang Town: Located in the southern part of Qingyang County, Lingyang Town governs 24 administrative villages (180 villager groups), one neighborhood committee, covers an area of 213.85 square kilometers, and has a population of 25,589. In 2005, the town’s fiscal revenue reached 19.07 million yuan, ranking second in both the county and the entire city. Lingyang has long been known as the “Prosperous Lingyang Town.” It was established as a county-level administrative region as early as 109 BC during the Western Han Dynasty. During the Warring States period, the poet Qu Yuan resided here for many years.
