Ancient City Rock in Xiuning County is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a cultural heritage site.

Ancient City Rock, located on the eastern side of Wan'an Town in Xiuning County, is world-renowned for its numerous historical sites, long-standing cultural heritage, and the unique spectacle of "Sunrise over Shoushan." The national AAAA-level Ancient City Rock Scenic Area was invested in and opened to the public by Hong Kong Jinlijia Co., Ltd.

Within the scenic area, ancient memorial archways, traditional houses, ancestral halls, temples, gateways, memorial gates, ancient bridges, ancient pagodas, as well as sites such as the Wangwang Imperial Palace, Zhu Yuanzhang’s Shelter Cave, the Heart-Tempering Stone, the Half Pavilion, and the Square Bamboo Grove are harmoniously arranged and complement one another. The area perfectly blends historical culture with natural landscapes, vividly showcasing the simple yet elegant charm of ancient Huizhou. Engaging visitor activities such as stone carving, wood carving, ink-making workshops, and compass crafting, along with distinctive local folk art performances, further captivate visitors, transporting them back to the distant Ming and Qing dynasties.

Ancient City Rock is a key cultural relic protection unit in Anhui Province. Its unique scenery has made it a popular filming location for many film and television productions. Movies and TV shows such as *Little Flower*, *Out of the Blue River*, *New Fourth Army*, *Sky of History*, *Merchants of the Qing Dynasty*, *Mother as a Slave*, *Happy China*, *Huizhou*, and *The Grand Ancestral Hall* were extensively filmed here.

Wan'an Town: Wan'an Ancient Town is located east of Xiuning County’s county town, situated on the banks of the Hengjiang River. It serves as the southern gateway to the renowned Huangshan Mountain scenic area, just over 40 kilometers from the Huangshan Scenic Zone. Connected to Tunxi, the seat of the city government, and adjacent to Huangshan Airport, the town is traversed by the Wan’gan–Huangshan Railway and the Tunxi–Huangshan Highway, offering convenient transportation and an exceptionally strategic location.
