Event Venue: Changning, the Hometown of Bamboo in China
Changning earned its name because it lies “the farthest in southern Sichuan, where the region remains peaceful and secure amid turmoil, with ethnic groups living in harmony and enduring peace.” The area boasts beautiful mountains and clear waters, with outstanding natural scenery and uniquely rich tourism resources. Changning County features a mid-subtropical humid monsoon climate, characterized by distinct seasons, mild weather, abundant rainfall, long frost-free periods, and synchronized water and temperature conditions. With frequent cloud cover and less sunshine in autumn and winter, high humidity, and low wind speeds, the climate is highly favorable, with efficient utilization of accumulated temperature. Its pristine ecological environment has earned Changning its esteemed reputation.

In recent years, while vigorously developing its distinctive green bamboo sea tourism, Changning County has also explored the integration of tourism with the sports industry. This marks the first time the National Hot Air Balloon Championship has come to Changning, Sichuan. Leveraging the unique visual appeal of hot air balloons and the highlights of the competition itself, the county will focus on advancing the development of “China’s Premier Low-Altitude Tourism Sanctuary.” Capitalizing on its exceptional geographical advantages, with over 60,000 acres of bamboo sea as the centerpiece and the dual views of the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau and the Sichuan Basin as a selling point, the area will vigorously develop aviation flight camps and low-altitude tourism projects.
