Huizhou Grand Canyon

Huizhou Grand Canyon is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Originally named Yuanfang Grand Canyon, Huizhou Grand Canyon is located in Yuanfang Township, Xiuning County, Huangshan City, stretching approximately 25 kilometers. It lies 16 kilometers from Huangshan City.

The scenic area boasts winding cliffs, rolling mountains, cascading waterfalls, and flowing springs, offering picturesque scenery.

The Huizhou Grand Canyon scenic area is divided into three major touring zones: Huizhou Canyon Rafting, Yuanfang Emerald Valley, and Yangshan Temple. Currently, Huizhou Canyon Rafting and Yuanfang Emerald Valley have been completed and opened to tourists.

Extreme Rafting

The characteristics of Huizhou Canyon Rafting can be summarized in four words: thrilling, green, serene, and fun. The rafting course is situated between Wugong Pit and Shangyutang Village, spanning a total length of 3.5 kilometers with an overall drop of over 100 meters. Towering cliffs and shaded willow trees line the riverbanks, while the riverbed is filled with rugged rocks and continuous rapids. Especially notable are the narrow sections where the water rushes through drops of 5–8 meters, requiring rafters to grip the handles of their inflatable boats tightly as they speed downstream. The winding “Z”-shaped course twists and turns through numerous bends, with one wave following another in rapid succession, delivering constant surprises. Drifting down the clearest and purest river on an inflatable raft offers visitors a truly thrilling and exhilarating experience unique to Huizhou Canyon Rafting.

Yuanfang Emerald Valley

Yuanfang Emerald Valley is renowned for its canyon scenery, extending roughly three li in length. The valley features clear streams, emerald pools, and silver waterfalls that complement each other, resembling a natural watercolor painting. The forest is dotted with bamboo groves and uniquely shaped pines and rocks, along with rare animals that inhabit the area, making every scene in the valley as beautiful as an exquisite painting—walking through the canyon feels like strolling through a painting. Here, visitors can also admire waterfalls, explore deep pools, walk along plank roads, and climb stone trails, experiencing the endless charm of nature.

Huizhou Grand Canyon is just 16 kilometers from Tunxi in Huangshan City. A chartered car from Huangshan Limi International Travel Agency takes only 20 minutes.

After arriving in Tunxi, take a taxi, Bus No. 12, or Bus No. 6 to Yanghu Station, then board the Tunxi–Yuanfang bus and get off at Huizhou Grand Canyon.
