Taotang Archway

The Taotang Archway is a cultural heritage protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Taotang Archway is located in Taotang Village, Yucun Township, Xiuning County, Huangshan City, and dates back to the Ming Dynasty.

In 2019, the Taotang Archway was designated as part of the eighth batch of provincial-level cultural heritage protection units by the People's Government of Anhui Province.

Taotang Village: Situated at the southern tip of Huangshan City, Taotang Village is traversed by the Donglin-Lingxia Road. It lies two kilometers from the seat of Yucun Township government and neighbors Tunxi, the municipal seat. With a long history and simple folkways, the village features an imperial archway dating from the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty at its water mouth area, making it one of the few well-preserved ancient villages.

Taotang Village administers three villager groups, with a total of 139 households and 505 residents. There are 293 people who regularly work outside the village (mostly in Tunxi). The village has 432 mu of tea plantations, 234 mu of bamboo forests with 32,100 bamboo trees, 483 mu of paddy fields, and 75 mu of dry land.
