Yuxu Palace Archway

The Yuxu Palace Archway is a cultural relic protection unit of Anhui Province.

The Yuxu Palace Archway in Qiyun Mountain, Qiyang County

Built in 1515, with two pillars and three stories; built in 1520, with two pillars and three stories; built in 1517. All three archways are pavilion-style, made of red sandstone. The stone carvings on the archways are exquisitely delicate, with bracket sets and upturned eaves, exhibiting an ancient and simple design. They serve as valuable physical materials for studying the relationship between Taoism and architectural art.

The Yuxu Palace Archway, dating back to the Ming Dynasty, is located at Qiyun Mountain in Qiyang County. The archways stand in front of Yuxu Palace at Zixiao Cliff on Qiyun Mountain, consisting of three parallel stone archways. The central one is the "Yuxu Archway," with four pillars and five stories, built in the 10th year of the Zhengde era of the Ming Dynasty (1515). The left one is the "Zhishirenwei Archway," with two pillars and three stories, built in the 15th year of the Zhengde era (1520). The right one is the "Tianyizhenzhuang Archway," with two pillars and three stories, built in the 12th year of the Zhengde era (1517). All three archways are pavilion-style and made of red sandstone. Their stone carvings are exquisitely delicate, with bracket sets and upturned eaves, exhibiting an ancient and simple design. They serve as valuable physical materials for studying the relationship between Taoism and architectural art.
