Tomb of Dai Dongyuan

The Tomb of Dai Dongyuan is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Anhui Province.

The Tomb of Dai Dongyuan is located on the hills northeast of Shangshan Township, Xiuning County.

The tomb site spans 40 square meters and consists of an earthen mound. It faces north, with a ground-level earthen mound that is 1.5 meters high. In front of the tomb stands a bluestone stele erected by his descendants, bearing the inscription: “Luofu Dai Clan, His Majesty’s Qing Dynasty specially granted Jinshi degree, conferred the title of Wenlin Lang of the Hanlin Academy as a Shujishi, our late father Dongyuan, and our late mother Madam Zhu, joint tomb.” In front of the tomb is a 20-square-meter memorial hall constructed from red sandstone slabs, with an entrance width of 1.2 meters. The surrounding area features picturesque landscapes of rolling hills and endless fields. Behind the tomb, layers of peaks rise one after another, with lush green pines adding to the serene beauty. It is now a key cultural heritage site under provincial protection in Anhui Province.
