Xinfeng Pagoda

Xinfeng Pagoda is a cultural relic protection unit of Huangshan City.

Xinfeng Pagoda is located on Xishantou in Fuxi Village, Yucun Township, Xiuning County, Huizhou (Huangshan City). It was built during the Ming Dynasty's Wanli era by Cheng Jue, an official of the Guanglu Temple from Yucun. This hexagonal, seven-story brick pagoda has a height of 36 meters and a base circumference of 21 meters. Each level features four arched gates, and inside the pagoda, there are 219 spiral steps leading to the top. The summit is crowned with an iron-cast finial. The walls on both sides of the pagoda’s doorway are fitted with Buddhist niches, which originally housed 659 brick-carved Buddha statues, though only about one-third remain today.

Fuxi Village: Fuxi Village is situated 25 kilometers southeast of Xiuning County’s county seat and just 7 kilometers from Tunxi, the seat of Huangshan City’s government. Historically, it was the largest village in the 21st District of Xiuning County and now serves as the location of Yucun Township Government. In 2011, following village-level administrative restructuring, the former Canggan Village was merged into Fuxi. The village currently has a population of 2,153, divided among 11 villager groups. It covers 1,700 acres of cultivated land, including 1,500 acres of paddy fields and 1,300 acres of tea plantations. Traditionally, the village’s economy has been based mainly on grain and tea production, with a significant portion of income coming from work in Tunxi.
