The Anqing Yangtze River Bridge is located on the Anqing section of the Yangtze River, with a total length of 5,985.66 meters and a main span of 1,040 meters. It is the 35th bridge over the mighty Yangtze to turn a natural barrier into a thoroughfare. It lies 164 kilometers downstream from the Jiujiang Yangtze River Bridge and 96 kilometers upstream from the Tongling Yangtze River Bridge. The entire bridge is designed as a four-lane expressway in both directions, with a design speed of 100 km/h.

The construction of the Anqing Yangtze River Bridge set four national records: the shortest time from contractor selection to the launch of the first steel cofferdam—just 22 days; the shortest time from the launch of the first steel cofferdam to its rock sealing—only 80 working days; the highest precision in cofferdam rock contact (1/660), exceeding the design specification by 6.6 times; and the longest zero-accident safety record among similar bridges nationwide.

The Anqing Yangtze River Bridge serves as an interchange point for the Anhui section of the Shanghai–Chengdu Expressway, the Yangtze River Expressway, and the Dongying–Hong Kong Expressway. Since then, this historic and cultural city of Anqing has gained northbound, eastbound, and southbound access to the sea, strengthening its economic ties with the Bohai Rim region, the Yangtze River Delta, the southeastern Fujian region, and the Pearl River Delta, paving a new broad path for Anqing’s development.
