Wan Guang Yuan

Wan Guang Yuan is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Tianzhu Mountain, located at the junction of the Dabie Mountains and the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Plain, lies to the northwest of present-day Qianshan County in Anhui Province. Wan Guang Yuan is situated at the southern foot of Tianzhu Mountain, covering a total area of 20,000 square meters. Established in 1994, it houses the Qianshan County Cultural Relics Management Office and Museum. According to the county chronicles: *Records of the Grand Historian* refers to Tianzhu Mountain as “the Tianzhu Mountain of Qian,” and “during the Spring and Autumn Period, the Zhou Dynasty established the state of Wan here and enfeoffed the Duke of Wan to govern it. The duke implemented benevolent governance, and the people, grateful for his virtue, called Tianzhu Mountain ‘Wan Mountain,’ the waters that flowed from it ‘Wan Waters,’ and it was later also known as ‘Gong of Wan Mountain.’ The abbreviation ‘Wan’ for Anhui Province also originates from this.” Based on this ancient Wan cultural heritage, the site was named “Wan Guang Yuan.”
