Baimatan Ecological Tourism Scenic Area is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

The national AAAA-level Baimatan Ecological Tourism Scenic Area is situated on the western foothills of Tianzhu Mountain, in the middle and upper reaches of the Qian River, about 17 kilometers from the Tianzhu Mountain highway exit and only 25 kilometers from Qianshan County. It belongs to Shuihou Town, Qianshan County, Anhui Province. With a total area of 75 square kilometers, the scenic area is widely celebrated for its pristine ecological environment, distinctive river valley landscapes, simple local customs, and abundant outdoor adventure activities. Its signature bamboo raft drifting is famed across the Jianghuai region and renowned throughout East China, earning the title “The Number One Drift Under Tianzhu Mountain.” It offers both the wild thrill of riding crashing waves and the leisurely romance of floating with the current.

The Shuihou Garden within the scenic area is one of the first national agricultural demonstration sites. The river section here boasts expansive views, rolling verdant hills, and a soft horizon. Stepping into the thousand-acre chestnut orchard feels like entering a poetic realm of “misty streams and tranquil painted screens.” The scenic area offers a variety of activities such as bamboo raft drifting, kayak rafting, horseback riding, barbecuing, bonfires, dune buggies, go-karting, bungee jumping, outdoor camping, and distinctive farmhouse meals—blending fun with beauty. The annual Baimatan Ecological Drifting Water-Splashing Festival and the “Million Wet Bodies” celebration are endlessly enchanting and breathtakingly joyful. The scenic area’s quaint town and idyllic countryside have been honored with the national “Habitat Environment Example Award.” Baimatan’s natural diamonds (diamonds) have appeared multiple times on CCTV.
