Nine-Twist River Rafting is situated within the Tianzhu Mountain scenic area, a national 5A-level tourist attraction. It lies 6 kilometers from Chazhuang Village in Tianzhushan Town, about 6 kilometers from the main scenic zone. Together with Tianzhu Mountain, it forms a stunning landscape painting. The river is named “Nine-Twist” because of its significant elevation drops and winding curves resembling nine twists and eighteen turns.

Driving from Qianshan County along National Highway 105 and up the mountain road for about half an hour, you will arrive at the Nine-Twist River Grand Canyon. Surrounded by lush greenery, the roadside features tea plantations exuding the fragrance of earth, with village houses occasionally nestled among the trees. At an altitude of 740 meters, the area boasts numerous fast-flowing waterfalls and perilous canyons, rich in forest water scenery. Rafting and exploring the Nine-Twist River Canyon is considered a flagship water adventure among Tianzhu Mountain’s recreational offerings.

Nine-Twist River Rafting has three major highlights: First, the water quality is excellent. The stream originates from the peak of Tianzhu Mountain and flows down through the Nine-Twist Grand Canyon, flanked by towering peaks, remaining completely unpolluted along its course.

The original eco-canyon adventure rafting on the Nine-Twist River spans over 2,700 meters with a total drop of nearly 250 meters. The canyon is deep, with waterfalls and pools connected in sequence, and the currents are swift. As you ride a rubber raft through deep pools and turbulent rapids, dodging left and right in the rushing waters and dancing with the waves, you’re challenging your wisdom, courage, boldness, and perseverance.

Second, the water flow is ideal. The rafting section of the Nine-Twist River features moderate drops, alternating between fast and gentle currents, with a winding and twisting river channel — making it one of the best sections for rafting. The cliffs on both sides are steep and the forests dense. The river roughly follows an S-shape, sometimes calm as a maiden, other times fierce as a released steed. The raft bobs up and down along the channel: gently gliding on calm waters, then galloping like a wild horse in rapids; straightaways offer smooth sailing, while turns bring thrilling danger.

Third, the environment is pristine. According to medical experts, the forest ecological environment can help prevent and treat illnesses.

Additionally, the crashing and colliding of flowing river water with rocks generates a large number of positive ions, which are highly beneficial to human health.

The banks of the Nine-Twist River are lined with jagged peaks. Drifting along feels like dreaming through a fairyland. Located in the western part of Qianshan County, Anqing City, Tianzhu Mountain, also known as Qianshan, Wanshan, Wanguo Mountain (the source of Anhui Province’s abbreviation “Wan”), Wansui Mountain, and others, is part of the eastern extension (or spur) of the Dabie Mountain range. It generally refers to the mountainous area centered around its main peak, Tianzhu Peak, within Qianshan County, and sometimes specifically to the main peak itself.

Chazhuang Village: Chazhuang Village in Tianzhushan Town, Qianshan County, is situated at the southern foot of Tianzhu Mountain, within the territory of the national key scenic spot, Tianzhu Mountain. Covering a total area of 17 square kilometers, it includes 1,310 mu of arable land and nearly 20,000 mu of mountainous land. The village comprises 12 villager groups with a population of over 3,000. In recent years, the overall quality of the village’s “two committees” leadership has continuously improved; democratic political construction, cultural development, and harmonious social construction have been further strengthened; the local economy and society have maintained steady growth; and infrastructure has been consistently enhanced.
