The Yu Ancestral Hall in Qianshan is a cultural tourism attraction.

The Yu Ancestral Hall is located about 30 meters west of Dexin Village, with a construction area of approximately 400 square meters. It was built in the 57th year of the Qianlong reign (1792). The hall houses various stone carvings, featuring finely carved patterns on the column bases and ridge beams, while reliefs such as the Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea remain clearly visible on the beams. The site holds significant historical and architectural artistic value.

Why was the Yu Ancestral Hall built? It is said that Yu Wenzhang was born less than a month before his father passed away. His mother, Madam You, remained chaste and single-handedly raised Yu Wenzhang to adulthood. To honor his mother, venerate their ancestors, and promote family values, Wenzhang built a branch ancestral hall covering around 400 square meters in a traditional three-bay, two-wing layout. The ancestral hall displays plaques inscribed with “Five Generations Under One Roof” and “Seven Generations of Prosperity,” as well as portraits of notable historical figures from the Yu lineage.
