Phoenix Mountain Ecological Leisure Park is situated within the Dexin Village Scenic Area in Guanzhuang. It lies against Jinzi Mountain, faces Fengxi River, links to Peach Blossom Garden in the east, and overlooks Great Xiangshan Mountain in the west, embracing Dexin Village within its embrace. With a total area of one square kilometer, it is named for the phoenix-like shape of the mountain. The mountain boasts lush and diverse vegetation—towering pines and emerald bamboos, a mix of coniferous and broadleaf forests, glistening mulberry and bamboo, fragrant chestnuts, fiery red maples, and vibrant azaleas, with a vegetation coverage rate of 90%. A 2-kilometer-long western branch canal of Hongwan Reservoir winds around the mountain like a pure, crystal-clear jade belt encircling the phoenix’s waist. Within the mountain, there are three iconic structures: Buyun Gate, Qingyun Tower, and Jinzi Pavilion, symbolizing steady progress, rising in rank, and entering officialdom—reminders to always strive upward and avoid seeking quick success. The architectural forms are symbolic too: Qingyun Tower is round while Jinzi Pavilion is square, representing adherence to the laws of nature and the importance of rules—without rules, there can be no order.

Phoenix Mountain is a feng shui treasure land where the two generations of Dexin Village’s庄主 (estate lords) from the Ming and Qing dynasties were buried, blessing future generations and bringing prosperity to their descendants. The Yu family became a prestigious clan, producing many talented and outstanding individuals through the ages, including the astronomer Yu Fengxi, Republican-era Governor Yu Yimi, revolutionary martyr Yu Dahua, and world-renowned scholar [name missing]. A 1.5-kilometer hiking trail, built along the mountain and paved with naturally formed granite stones of various shapes and exquisitely crafted, winds through secluded paths. Strolling along the shaded forest trails, you get close to green plants, breathe fresh oxygen, listen to Huangmei opera tunes, enjoy spiritual cleansing, and experience returning to simplicity—it’s delightful and carefree. In spring, Phoenix Mountain is adorned with mountain flowers; in autumn, red leaves glow brilliantly, offering delightful views that refresh the mind and lift the spirit.
