The site of the Kunlun Stockade Fortress is a cultural relic protection unit of Anqing City.

The site of the Kunlun Stockade Fortress is located on a Kunlun Mountain at the border between Huangbai Town and Chashui Town. It stretches from the Huangbai Bridge in the east to Ma’an Stockade in the west, overlooks Youfang Village of Chashui Town in the south, and faces Kunlun Village of Huangbai in the north. The site covers an area of approximately 15,000 square meters. The Kunlun Mountain Range runs from east to west, with various sized fault-block mountains distributed around the main peak. The valleys between the peaks form a “V” shape, creating a rugged mountainous landscape. The fortress gate was built on the open eastern side, offering a commanding view of the surrounding areas. This design not only aligns with principles of line of sight but also highlights military strategic elements while reflecting the ingenuity of ancient stonemasons. The fortress gate and walls were constructed using rectangular, fine-surfaced bluestone slabs. The stone gate stands about 2 meters high and 1.5 meters wide, with holes for securing the gate embedded in the inner wall, enhancing its defensive function. The remaining stone walls stretch for over 500 meters. The Kunlun Stockade was built in the fifth year of the Shunzhi era during the Qing Dynasty (1648) by Zhu Tongqi of the Ming royal family as a stronghold against the Qing forces, but it was captured the same year by Qing general Liang Dayong.

Chashui Town: Located in the northern part of Qianshan County, at the northern foot of Tianzhu Mountain, Chashui Town covers an area of 176 square kilometers and has a population of 37,000. It ranks third in area, sixth in population, and second in economic output within the county. It is an industrial hub on the “Qianshan–Yuexi Industrial Corridor,” a strong town for private economy in the county, a major production area for Trichosanthes fruit, and the leading town in Anhui Province for the production of high-quality silkworm cocoons.
