Oriental Sun City is located in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, in the northeast corner of the Taizhou Green Heart Ecological Development Zone at the junction of Jiaojiang, Huangyan, and Luqiao districts. It lies to the south of the western section of Shifu Avenue, 3.5 kilometers from the municipal government building. Surrounded by undulating mountains, lush vegetation, and vibrant greenery, and adjacent to the Taizhou University Town, it is the geographical center of the composite metropolis of Taizhou and also the core and essence of the future central urban area of Taizhou. Oriental Sun City is a large-scale comprehensive tourism project integrating tourism and entertainment, leisure vacation, conferences and exhibitions, gourmet shopping, ecological landscapes, and real estate. Covering an area of 1,338 mu with a total investment of over 2 billion yuan, it is the first-phase project of the Green Heart Development Zone. The site includes 864 mu of tourism land — one-third of which is water surface — and 368 mu allocated for real estate. By making full use of the dynamic natural landscape of the Green Heart and incorporating the essence of Western architecture, the Sun City has been designed as a national 5A-level themed tourism park. Upon completion, it will be one of the largest tourism and vacation destinations in China, as well as the only large-scale comprehensive themed tourism resort in southern Zhejiang.

Since its establishment in 2002, the company has, in just three short years, built a sizable tourism project on what was then barren land — Happy Island and Blue Water World. These attractions have since become top leisure, entertainment, and cooling-off destinations for the residents of Taizhou. During the “May Day” holiday in 2005, they welcomed 95,000 visitors and generated ticket revenue of 3.918 million yuan, ranking first among all scenic spots in the city. Sun City has become a key focus of Taizhou’s tourism industry, achieving commendable economic benefits and maintaining strong momentum for development. At the 2005 Domestic Tourism Trade Fair held in Guilin, Guangxi, which concluded on April 16 of this year, Oriental Sun City was featured as one of the main attractions promoted by Taizhou. Of course, the real estate development of Sun City has also achieved notable success: in 2003, it won the “Zhejiang Human Settlements Classic Award,” the “Environmental Gold Award” in the National Human Settlements Architecture Planning Competition, and was named one of the “Top Ten Boutique Residential Developments” in Taizhou.
