Tianlongyuan Hot Spring is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Tianlongyuan Hot Spring Homestead covers an area of 100 acres, with a construction area of over 40,000 square meters, and can accommodate more than 3,000 people simultaneously. Adjacent to the Ming Tombs and west of Badaling, it lies on the essential route from Beijing to the Badaling and Ming Tombs Scenic Area, just 300 meters from the expressway. This road is China’s premier golden tourism route. The world-famous Badaling and Ming Tombs guarantee the everlasting allure of this path. The site is located at the junction of the Yan Mountains’ foothills and the North China Plain, backed by the Yan Mountains and facing the capital to the south—borrowing scenery into its charm, with a vast atmosphere, positioned upwind and upstream with crisp, healthy air. It features a 1,200-square-meter shower and sauna space, a 2,000-square-meter hot spring bathing area, and over 10,000 square meters of water-themed entertainment space. Supporting wellness and entertainment facilities include an ice rink, table tennis hall, billiards room, large bar, teahouse, KTV, massage rooms, leisure lounge, VIP private rooms, and a comprehensive dining service system. In the evening, a grand show combining ice, water, fire, "mermaids," acrobatic performances, water screen movies, and stunning light and sound effects can be enjoyed by over 2,000 spectators at once.

Tianlongyuan Hot Spring, scientifically classified as a calcium-magnesium sodium bicarbonate-type fluorine hot spring, is sourced from 1,916 meters underground. With a bottom temperature of 44.8°C and an outlet temperature of 43.5°C, it is considered top-tier among hot springs. Approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources of the People’s Republic of China, its water quality is identified as a calcium-magnesium sodium bicarbonate-type fluorine medicinal thermal mineral water, which can be consumed under medical guidance. It is the first such medically approved dual-use (bathing and drinking) thermal mineral water in Beijing, known to have significant therapeutic effects on cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, high blood lipids, various types of arthritis, and gastrointestinal disorders. It also greatly benefits skin nourishment.

When Emperor Yuan established the capital, he designated the Yan Mountains as the dragon vein of the capital city. This hot spring originates where the Yan Mountains meet the North China Plain, backed by the Juyong Pass and facing the capital to the south—like a hidden dragon waiting for its time, silently witnessing the vicissitudes of human history through countless years. The waters of Tianlongyuan Hot Spring emerge from the southern slope of the Yan Mountains several miles away as cold springs. Known in ancient times as the Nine Dragons Spring, it dried up during the Cultural Revolution. On the second day of the second lunar month in 1997—the traditional "Dragon Raises Its Head" day—Tianlongyuan Hot Spring, sensing the celestial timing, joyfully sprang forth from 1,916 meters underground, embodying the image of a soaring dragon. The I Ching states, “The flying dragon is in the heavens; it furthers one to see the great man.” A dragon vein gives birth to a divine spring—one cold, one hot. It dried up in chaotic times and flowed again in prosperous ages, a great omen signifying “when the sage arises, all things become clear.” Thus, it was named Tianlongyuan Hot Spring.

Public transport: Take bus 919 heading toward Yanqing from Jishuitan, get off at Changping Jiuxian, then transfer to a local minibus bound for Nankou to arrive.

By car: Take Exit 13C of the Badaling Expressway, follow the service road around Changping Xiguan Roundabout, go straight west for about 2 kilometers, and the hot spring will be on the north side of the road.
