In 2014, the global coffee chain Starbucks celebrated its 16th anniversary in Taiwan by introducing a brand-new Drive Thru store format for the first time, bringing it from the United States to its Yongkang branch in Tainan. This allows customers to complete their ordering and pickup process in just 4–5 minutes, making coffee purchases more convenient for enthusiasts. In addition to sparking discussion, it has also become an alternative attraction. Now, as 2015 draws to a close, there are already five Starbucks locations with this Drive Thru format.
