On a hot summer day, sipping cool beer, chatting and laughing with a few friends, and enjoying the scenery surrounded by green mountains is surely the most desirable and relaxing way of life. On May 29, following the conclusion of the "12th Beijing Changping Xiaotangshan Hot Spring Culture Festival," the District Tourism Commission launched its "Colorful Summer" series of summer tourism events. The first event—the 7th Jinyu Mangshan Forest Beer Festival—officially became part of people’s summer life.
Enjoy authentic German beer without leaving the country
At the event, beer was the star attraction, with over 30 varieties of authentic German draft beer and summer specialty drinks available for the public, including Kölsch, Würzburger series beers, and Strong Dark Beer... A wide range of well-known beer brands allowed the public to enjoy genuine German beer without going abroad.
Drinking beer wasn’t enough—over 60 types of "pairing" snacks were the perfect complement, giving the public a chance to both drink and feast. The grilled snacks on-site continued to use smokeless grilling methods, ensuring a healthy, eco-friendly, and pollution-free experience. Up to 60 types of grilled dishes and flavored snacks were available for the public to choose from and enjoy.
What makes a great summer evening even better is having food, drinks, and entertainment. On the stage in the square, melodious saxophone classics, vivid beatbox performances, and cool live band shows took turns entertaining the crowd, delivering a grand audiovisual feast. Moreover, the public could also take to the stage to participate in the exciting "Beer King" and "Wine Immortal" competitions, as well as the interactive "Village MALL" giveaways, for a chance to win attractive prizes.
A Summer Getaway with Back-to-Back Events
The Changping Summer Tourism Series, themed "Fall in Love with Changping – Colorful Summer," not only showcased the beautiful and unique natural surroundings of Mangshan Forest Park, the diverse cuisine of Mangshan, and the distinctive beer festival culture. It will also offer the public a variety of event experiences over the next three months.
On the occasion of the commemorative events for the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the District Tourism Commission will launch three red tourism routes centered around the Lang’eryu Red Scenic Area, the Aviation Museum, and the North International Shooting Range. Meanwhile, the traditional summer program—"Fall in Love with Changping • Military Training Summer Camp"—will also be held as scheduled this summer.
During the Hot Spring Festival, the district’s 16 key hot spring enterprises received a total of 354,900 visitors, generating tourism revenue of 75.84 million yuan, representing year-on-year increases of 5.57% and 2.68%, respectively. The official "Fall in Love with Changping" Weibo and WeChat accounts have surpassed 110,000 followers.
