Destination Introduction

The Baihujian Natural Scenic Area is situated in Yangfang Town, Changping District, and belongs to the Taihang Mountain range. It covers a total area of 4.6 million square meters, with the highest peak at 850 meters. The area features densely scattered peaks and a grand, stretching mountain landscape, known as the "Thousand Peaks of the Divine Ridge," and is one of the renowned "Eight Scenic Spots of Yanping." The vast mountains, limitless sea of clouds, uniquely shaped rocks, deep valleys, lush forests, and striking scenery form the extraordinary allure of the site.

Breathtaking peaks, deep valleys, and rushing streams are the three main scenic highlights of the area. The soul of the thousand peaks, "Zhuzhi Mountain," derives its name from when Emperor Zhangzong of the Jin Dynasty visited and personally inscribed the two characters "Zhuzhi" (Imperial Sojourn) here.

Peaks such as Guanshi Mountain, Baihu Mountain, Qinglong Mountain, Yangfo Ridge, and Yufu Summit are vividly lifelike and full of charm. Peculiar stones like Fantianguan (Heavenly Seal), Qingyuzhu (Jade Pillar), Tianhe Feipu (Milky Way Waterfall), Wolushi (Crouching Tiger Stone), Panlongshi (Coiled Dragon Stone), Wangtianhou (Roaring Toward Heaven), Xiangyin Yingshui (Elephant Drinking Water), Jingyu Chuhai (Whale Emerging from the Sea), Wukong Shoujie (Monkey Receiving Precepts), and Foti Qingtian (Buddha’s Hand Holding Up the Sky) are exquisitely shaped with profound artistic meanings. Rare sights include the Xuanying Cave, Bat Cave, Xianyou Cave, Bailong Pool, Heilong Pool, and Yingri Pool.

The area also contains numerous historical relics such as stone beds, stone chessboards, the Eighteen-Turn Temple, Guairan Hermitage, Miaofeng Nunnery, and Immortal's Rope. The most historically significant is the “Five Clouds” supporting “Shangfang,” referring to the "Baoyun Temple, Cheyun Temple, Shiyun Temple, Dayun Temple, Qingyun Temple," and "Shangfang Temple." Their ruins still remain, evoking nostalgia.

The scenic area is surrounded by mountains on three sides, with only the southeast open to the plains. This unique topography creates a microclimate distinct from the outside world. The area boasts steep, rugged rocks, numerous peculiar peaks and caves, and lush trees, flowers, and fruits. The winding valleys, strange rocks, and beautiful waters and mountains create picturesque scenery. Highlights include "Shuiquan Gully, Bailong Pool, Heilong Pool, and Yingyue Pool," all incredibly scenic. By car, follow the Yiyang Highway to Yangfang, then drive 3 kilometers toward Baihujian to arrive. Note: Located in Yangfang Town, Changping District, approximately 20 kilometers from downtown.

Transportation

Bus: Take bus 914 to Yangfang, then take a taxi directly to the scenic area; or take bus 330 to Xixiaoying and transfer to bus 911 to Yangfang.

By car: Follow the Yiyang Highway to Yangfang, then drive 3 kilometers toward Baihujian to arrive.

From Xierqi Subway Station, take bus 642 to Baihujian, cross the street to transfer to bus Chang 57, get off at Hou Baihujian Village, and walk about 1500 meters to the ticket office.

Yangfang Town: Located northwest of Beijing, at the foot of Zhuzhi Mountain, a branch of the Taihang Mountains, about 20 kilometers from the Summer Palace, adjacent to Haidian’s Zhongguancun and Shangdi Information Industry Base.
