The ruins of the Ancient Yan Great Wall in Changping are a cultural tourism attraction and a World Cultural Heritage site.

Destination Introduction The ruins of the Ancient Yan Great Wall are located on the Western Hills, 20 kilometers southwest of Changping Satellite City, stretching 30 kilometers from north to south. Changping was historically part of the State of Yan. The northern section of the wall was first built in the 29th year of King Zhao of Yan during the late Warring States period (283 BC). The State of Yan constructed defensive walls along its northern border. After the Qin dynasty unified China, this section of the wall was abandoned and suffered severe natural collapse. In 1984, it was designated as a cultural relics protection unit of Beijing. Most of the remaining ruins of the Yan Great Wall are fragmented, standing about 1.5 meters high and 2 meters wide, with watchtowers, beacon towers, and other structures reduced to piles of rubble.
