Qingxiu Temple

Qingxiu Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Qingxiu Temple is located at the foot of Anying Mountain on the outskirts of Longquan City. The temple complex includes the Mahavira Hall, the Heavenly King Hall, and dining quarters, making it the largest temple in Longquan City. A plaque inscribed with the name “Qingxiu Temple” by Zhao Puchu hangs prominently above the mountain gate. Originally established as a Taoist site, the temple was founded in the ninth year of the Tianfu era during the Jin Dynasty (944 AD) and was initially called Qingxiu Lecture Hall. In the Yiyou year of the Zhengtong era during the Ming Dynasty (1445 AD), it was renamed Qingxiu Temple. Inside the mountain gate stand two osmanthus trees planted during the Tang Dynasty, commonly known as the Tang Osmanthus. The left tree stands 15 meters tall with a trunk diameter of 0.74 meters, while the right one reaches 16 meters in height with a trunk diameter of 0.8 meters. During every Mid-Autumn Festival, their fragrance fills the air. As the branches of the two Tang Osmanthus trees intertwine, they are referred to as the “Couple Trees,” attracting many worshippers and tourists from all over to visit and pay their respects.
