The Longquan Stream in Tucheng, Taipei, is a must-visit spot for many photography enthusiasts and a famous location in northern Taiwan for capturing "stream slanting light." The most beautiful angle of light enters during April and August each year, and the best time to shoot is between 7:00 and 7:30 in the morning.

Surrounded by lush greenery, the murmuring stream flows gently down the Longquan Stream in Tucheng. Sunlight filters through the leaves, casting pure and soft white light onto the green-shadowed riverbed. The vibrant green landscape is slightly veiled in rising mist that creates a dreamy halo, making the scene appear as if an angel has descended—natural, pure, and crystal clear.

To capture fairy-tale-like slanting light at Longquan Stream, plan your visit one or two days after rainfall when the stream is full and ideal for taking even more stunning photos. The path to the slanting light spot is not easy to find, and some areas are covered with moss, so it’s best to wear shoes that are both flexible and slip-resistant, and avoid damaging the environment.

Transportation: From Section 4 of Zhongyang Road in Tucheng, head toward the underpass of National Freeway No. 3. Turn into a small road, Longquan Road, about 1.5 km in. You’ll find Zhen’an Temple, whose entrance is somewhat inconspicuous. Look for utility pole 82060, where ropes are tied between guardrails and fences. Use the ropes to climb down to reach the stream bed.
