Destination Introduction

Xiaotangshan Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park is located on the plain area at the southern foot of the Yanshan Mountains, featuring fertile land and convenient transportation. The park is situated 17 kilometers north of the Asian Games Village, 10 kilometers east of the Capital International Airport, and 5 kilometers west of the Badaling Expressway. It is traversed by the Sixth Ring Road and the Beijing-Chengde Expressway. The park spans four towns: Xiaotangshan, Cuicun, Xingshou, and Baishan. The area is rich in water resources, surrounded by eight rivers including the Wenyu River, Hulu River, and Lingo River, and has geothermal resources that can be developed over an area of 100 square kilometers.

Accommodation Information

In addition to enriching sightseeing programs, the park has enhanced its tourism infrastructure. A comprehensive facility capable of accommodating 200 people for dining, lodging, and hot spring bathing has been completed. There is also an advanced multi-functional conference hall suitable for meetings and events organized by enterprises and institutions.

Xiaotangshan Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park was established in 1998. In 2001, it was designated as a national-level agricultural science and technology demonstration park in Changping District, Beijing, by six ministries including the Ministry of Science and Technology, making it the only national-level agricultural science and technology demonstration park in the city. Over the years, it has been named by various departments such as the Beijing Municipal Government, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, and the National Tourism Administration as a “Beijing Science Education Base,” “Beijing Patriotic Education Base,” “Demonstration Base for the Promotion of Introduced Foreign Intelligence Achievements,” “National Industrial and Agricultural Tourism Demonstration Site,” “Scientific Experiment Base,” and “Beijing Garden-Style Unit.” Transportation Information

Visitors can take bus routes 912, 803, or 984 and get off at Mafang Station.

Self-driving Route: Drive along Lishuitang Road, the Sixth Ring Road, or the Badaling Expressway to Daliushu Roundabout, then go south for two kilometers to Mafang Bridge, and continue east along the northern bank of the Wenyu River for two kilometers.

Xiaotangshan Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Changping County. It is a pilot town for urban construction in the city. Established as the Xiaotangshan Commune in 1961, it became Xiaotang Township in 1983 and was upgraded to a town in 1990. Located in the central-eastern part of the county, it is 17 kilometers from the Asian Games Village and 19 kilometers from the Capital Airport. Covering an area of 38.1 square kilometers with a population of 15,000, it has urban roads such as Shashun Road and Lishuitang Road. The town administers ten village committees: Houniufang, Datangshan, Xiaotangshan, Dalushu, Huluhe, Asuwei, Guanniufang, Mafang, Jiangli, and Shangxin, and one neighborhood committee: Shichang Street.
