Designated: December 12, 1989

Located about 3 km northwest of Yuankou Village, Daotai Township. Excavated in 1982. Covers an area of approximately 4,000 square meters. The dragon kiln is about 97 meters long. Excavated ceramics can be divided into coarse and fine categories, with vessel shapes including bowls, stem cups, basins, plates, and saucers. Decoration methods mainly include carving and stamping, with motifs such as lotus petals, flowers, double fish, and Phags-pa script. The body is grayish-white. The glaze is bluish-green, with many pieces tinged yellow or grayish-blue. Kiln furniture includes saggars, bowl-shaped supports and washers, and spacer cakes. In addition, four workshop sites were excavated, along with 12 washing pools, 10 potter’s wheel pits, four bisque-fired kilns, as well as house foundations and drainage ditches.

Daotai Township: Daotai Township is located northeast of Longquan City, by the side of Xiangong Lake. The terrain is higher in the northwest and lower in the southeast, sloping from north to south. There are over 30 peaks within the township with elevations exceeding 1,000 meters, where majestic mountains and overlapping ridges sprawl, and valleys and streams crisscross. The Longquan Stream, the source of the Ou River, runs through the area. The township covers an area of 351 square kilometers, making it the largest township in Zhejiang Province and even East China. The township government is located in Dabian Village, 25 km from downtown Longquan. It borders Yunhe County to the east, Anren Town and Tashi Township to the south, Fengming and Chengbei Township of Longyuan Subdistrict to the west, and Songyang County to the north. … More details about Daotai Township++
