Anren Kiln Site

The Anren Kiln Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Zhejiang Province.

The Anren Kiln Site is located in Anren Town, Longquan City, dating back to the Song to Ming dynasties.

Stretching along Xian'gong Lake from Anfu to the mouth of Anren are more than twenty ancient kiln sites producing Longquan celadon, all dating from the Song, Yuan, and Ming dynasties. When the lake water subsides, the ancient kiln remains washed by the water reveal heaps of historical ceramic fragments, creating an impressive scene. This offers visitors a glimpse into the former prosperity of the area, when “kilns stood densely along both sides of the Ou River, smoke rising from every chimney, and boats transporting porcelain plied the river as thick as a web.”

On January 7, 2011, it was announced as part of the sixth batch of Zhejiang Provincial Cultural Heritage Protection Units.

Anren Town: Located in the eastern part of Longquan, Anren Town is the eastern gateway to the city, approximately 29 kilometers from downtown Longquan. The town administers four management areas, 37 administrative villages, and has a population of 18,495, covering a total area of 207.9 square kilometers. Transportation is very convenient—the No. 53 provincial highway (Lipu Line) runs through the town center, and the under-construction Longquan-Lishui Expressway passes through the area—making it an attractive destination for investment and development.
