The Former Residence of Ye Pu (Jiang Family Mansion) is located at No. 136, Gongtou Village, Xijie Subdistrict, Longquan City, Zhejiang Province. Built during the Ming Dynasty, it was the home of Ye Pu, a renowned official known as “Ye the Incorruptible,” and has a history of over 500 years. By the Qing Dynasty, it was owned by the influential Jiang family, hence the name Jiang Family Mansion. It is now referred to as the Former Residence of Ye Pu, with a total construction area of 3,544.5 square meters. Ye Pu, styled Shiyong and also known as Chaxi, passed the imperial examination and became a Jinshi in the 18th year of the Hongzhi reign (1505) during the Ming Dynasty. The Ye family residence was built in the late Ming Dynasty and is one of the larger ancient residential buildings in downtown Longquan City. Its layout is roughly square, facing south and backing north. Along the central axis from north to south are the entrance gate, front hall, and rear hall. In front of the front hall is a courtyard, while both in front of and behind the rear hall are courtyards, with wing rooms on both sides. The total construction area is approximately 2,775 square meters.
On January 7, 2011, it was designated as part of the sixth batch of cultural relic protection units of Zhejiang Province.
Gongtou Village: Visiting Gongtou Village in Xijie Subdistrict, Longquan City—a town-country blend—gives you the illusion of being in a hidden paradise. Nestled against the scenic Phoenix Mountain and facing Tiger Hill, the village is graced by the clear and gentle flow of the Jinxi Stream in front. Mountains embrace the water, and water reflects the mountains, while the village sleeps peacefully amid them. Only the occasional chirping of birds from the woods breaks this tranquility.
Gongtou Village got its name from the Wanshou Palace; the village came into being only after the palace was established. Currently, the village consists of three natural villages, nine villager groups, 220 households, and 738 residents. Gongtou has long been a place of cultural richness...
