The Hometown of Liu Ben in Changping is a cultural tourism attraction.

Destination Introduction: The hometown of Liu Ben is located in Nanxishatun, Changping District. Liu Ben, courtesy name Quhua, was a native of Changping. He passed the imperial examination in the second year of the Baoli era (826) during the reign of Emperor Jingzong of the Tang Dynasty. Known for his impartial governance, he was framed and slandered by eunuchs, demoted to be the Sima Census Officer of Liuzhou, and was buried in the suburbs of Liuzhou after his death. In the second year of the Tai Ding era of the Yuan Dynasty (1325), a memorial temple was established in Changping County. In the mid-Ming Dynasty, a temple was built in Nanxishatun within the county, and in the fifth year of the Chongzhen era (1632), a stele was erected for Liu Ben at this temple, with the inscription written by Dong Qichang. During the Guangxu era, another stele inscribed with “Hometown of Liu Ben” was placed in front of the temple. Today, only the surviving steles can be seen, as the temple has been destroyed.
