Destination Introduction

The Old Beijing Miniature Scenic Area is located in Nankou Town, Changping District, 38 kilometers from downtown Beijing. It is a landscape that recreates the original appearance and cultural customs of Beijing during the Ming and Qing dynasties, covering an area of over 800 acres, and officially opened to tourists in August 1994.

The scenic area is divided into three main parts. The first is the miniature landscape sightseeing area, covering 600 acres. The over 100 vivid and lifelike scenes in the area are exquisitely crafted at a 1:15 scale. The second part is the traditional Beijing-style sightseeing area, covering 200 acres. Attractions here are built at a 1:1 scale and include traditional dining venues such as the “Imperial Dining Hall” and “Huixian Hall,” as well as guest rooms styled after imperial bedrooms and shops in traditional designs. The third part is the performance area. This section is divided into eight spots, featuring performances such as the Imperial Examination Success Ceremony, acrobatics, martial arts, and the Eight Eccentrics of Tianqiao. These captivating acts, rich in traditional Old Beijing characteristics, allow visitors to experience the charm of Old Beijing culture and appreciate the simple and genuine flavor of its folk customs. Transportation Information: Take bus 345 from Deshengmen, get off at Changping Dongguan Station, then transfer to bus 357 and get off at Chenzhuang Station.
