Destination Introduction

Shuanglongshan Forest Park is situated in Changling Town, Changping District, Beijing, approximately 8 kilometers northwest of the Ming Tombs Scenic Area, west of Dujiuyu Village, and 50 kilometers from central Beijing. It features an outstanding natural ecological environment with a vegetation coverage rate exceeding 95%. The scenic zone spans 5 li, characterized by dense forests, fragrant fruits, rare flowers and plants, vines winding around trees, 100-meter-long shaded canopies, rugged peaks, and peculiar rocks. Remnants of ancient city walls can also be found, offering a strong sense of "wilderness." Towering stone cliffs line both sides of the valley, with a spring flowing through the center—earning it the nickname “Little Longquan of Northern Beijing.” With its picturesque landscapes, it is hailed as a paradise on earth and a base for green fruit picking. In today’s world where the Earth calls for greenery and people yearn for forests—with fresh air and green surroundings—Shuanglongshan Forest Park serves as an ideal destination for tourism, sightseeing, vacationing, and connecting with nature.

The scenic area extends 8 li in total, covering an area of 200 hectares, divided into three zones with over 30 viewing spots. The main peak stands at an elevation of 988 meters, with summer temperatures 5–8°C lower than in Beijing. The mountains are serene, and the air is fresh. Boasting a superior natural environment and over 95% vegetation coverage, the area features lush forests, fragrant fruits, exotic flora, vine-draped canopies, 100-meter-shaded areas, rugged peaks, and ancient border wall ruins, all contributing to a rich “wild” charm. Towering cliffs rise on either side with a spring running through the middle, earning the park the title of “Little Huangshan of Western Beijing.” With its beautiful mountains and clear waters, it is praised as a paradise and a base for green fruit picking. It is a mountain village leisure industry integrating ornamental, recreational, and entertaining elements.

Shuanglongshan Forest Park is abundant with fruits. The valley is home to more than ten types of fruit trees, including red cherries, yellow and white apricots, bullheart red plums, large flat persimmons, red hawthorns, big red fruits, sour pears, apples, and Sichuan peppercorns—totaling over 10,000 trees, yielding more than 200,000 jin of various dried and fresh fruits annually. The hillsides are covered with over ten types of edible wild plants such as magnolia greens, daylilies, rock flowers, and bracken. Higher altitudes yield more than ten types of medicinal herbs, including skullcap, rehmannia, angelica, and phellodendron. Even more precious is the vigorous growth of wild Chinese kiwifruit here, bearing abundant fruit. In the park, you can easily pick fruits from the trees and gather mountain delicacies from the ground. With fruits and treasures all around, visitors can freely enjoy the pleasure of foraging.

Transportation Information: Take Bus 345 Branch from Beijing Deshengmen to Changping South Street, then transfer to Urban-Rural Bus 5 (Dujiuyu) to the entrance of Dujiuyu Scenic Area. Walk 3 km westward to reach the park. Alternatively, take Bus 925 directly from Gulou Liupukang Workers’ Daily Publishing House. By car: Enter the Badaling Expressway from Madian Bridge, exit at Changping West Pass Roundabout, then head north toward Changling with signs guiding the way.
