Beijing Aoshan International Leisure Space is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Beijing Aoshan International Leisure Space is situated in a national-level eco-industrial resort area, surrounded by mountains on five sides with only one passageway for entry and exit. The overall space covers an area of approximately 16,000 acres. To the east, it borders the Badaling Expressway and is close to the world-renowned Juyongguan Great Wall, Badaling Great Wall, Baiyanggou Yan Great Wall, Huanglouyuan, and Yangtai Zi — the top village for folk tourism in the suburbs of Beijing; to the west, it lies beside the hundred-mile green corridor — Baiyanggou; to the south, there are the thousand-year-old Heping Temple, the King of Blue Sandalwood, and the King of Wild Jujube; to the north, it neighbors Foyansi and Tiziyu Scenic Area; above, there are ancient sections of the Great Wall from the Yan, Qin, Northern Qi, and Ming dynasties; in the middle, there is the unique Taluoguan and Pishan Wall (another form of the Great Wall) found only in the land of Yan and Zhao; below, there are several ancient border pass ruins such as Xinglongkou (Sulin Kou), Baiyangcheng (Baiyang Kou), and Huyucheng (Huyu Kou). It is one of the important ecological protection zones designated in Beijing’s revised planning and is also a key eco-tourism, outdoor sports, and mountain leisure development area in Changping District.

Aoshan is located at the junction of the Yanshan and Taihang Mountain ranges, formed by the uplift caused by the compression of the two mountains. It covers an area of 25,000 acres, with the highest elevation reaching 1,290 meters. Historically known as the “sacred capital’s hidden region, where mountains and rivers converge,” it has long been praised as the “Shennongjia of Northern Beijing.” Its natural scenery is pristine and beautiful; geological wonders such as the “Three Giants of Aoshan,” “Three Venerables of Aoshan,” and “Three Towers of Aoshan” are marvels of nature. The “Mother of the Great Wall” — the Pishan Wall, the Great Walls of four dynasties, and the Martyrs’ Cemetery are scattered throughout, showcasing a profound cultural heritage. Traditional folk handicrafts such as Aoyu, Aoci, and Apodhi are distinctive and exquisitely crafted.

The ecological environment quality of Aoshan exceeds the national first-class standard, with excellent air quality, earning it the reputation of a natural oxygen bar. Over a hundred species of animals roam the forests, mountain roads wind through the deep hills, lakes are nestled between the mountains, hiking trails twist and turn, and outdoor camping sites offer open-sky lodging.

Beijing Aoshan International Leisure Space is home to over 150 families and more than 1,800 species of original plants; 55 families and over 150 species of vertebrate animals. There are more than 800 species of medicinal plants and animals. Its environmental quality (including water, air, and noise levels) surpasses the national first-class standard; oxygen content can reach 48.7 kilograms per acre; the concentration of negative air ions can reach 2,800 per CM² (urban areas generally have no more than 200 negative ions per CM²). The geological landscape is diverse, rainfall is abundant, and biodiversity is rich. The unique geographical location and exceptional natural resources have created this magical paradise. A natural oxygen bar and a utopian haven, its beauty and tranquility make it an ideal destination for citizens to relax, improve their health, and reconnect with nature.

Beijing Aoshan International Leisure Space encompasses a hundred-mile scenic tourism loop, a fifty-mile creative corridor, a branch of the Great Wall, and nine major scenic areas including Aoling, Aoyu, volcanic landforms, Jiuhushan, Baiwangfeng (Heishantuo), Taluoguan, and Lujiaowan Holiday Tribe, as well as thirty-six scenic spots. There are currently two ancient pass ruins, three turtle-shaped mountains of varying forms, two sizable caves, three ancient temple ruins, four marvelous natural rock formations resembling human figures, a former World War II division-level command post site, a memorial site for seven martyrs, and numerous beautiful local legends.
